This year Melbourne celebrated its 22nd Pride March. Bent TV proudly presents some of the 150 groups as the colour and spectacle made its way down Fitzroy Street, St Kilda. This is the first in the parade's history to be led by a BoonWurrung smoking ceremony, accompanied by a contingent of queer Indigenous peoples. This year also saw hundreds of young people marching together in a momentous statement of support and solidarity initiated by Minus 18. As we enjoyed the atmosphere of this years' march, we spoke with some of those enthusiastically cheering; representative of the vast cross section of age groups watching, and participating, in the march.
C31 Melbourne and Geelong - the Melbourne Community Television Consortium is Victoria's not-for-profit community television service providing locally-based entertainment, education and information. Transmitted from Mount Dandenong, C31 provides access and representation to the many diverse communities within Victoria. You can find faces, voices and issues which are not present in mainstream television.
We broadcast over 90 new locally-made programs every week. These programs are produced by community television volunteers and independent television makers.
