Another community TV project will make the leap to the big time, when Channel 31′s The Bazura Project becomes an ABC2 programme later this year.
The half hour light entertainment programme described itself as being about “films, movie, and everything in between.”
When they’re not reviewing movies, presenters Shannon Marinko and Lee Zachariah often appear in irreverent parodies of feature films.
It has also interviewed a number of writers and directors including Steven Berkoff, Leigh Whannell, Bud Tingwell, Scott Hicks, Rolf de Heer, Jason Schwartzman, Gillian Armstrong and more.
The show began in 2006 on Channel 31 Melbourne and made wider news when it questioned the Logie Awards non-inclusion of Community Television programmes. This year, the Logies relented.
ABC2 will also air the winner of the Golden Globe Best Miniseries Award, Carlos, as well as new series of both Misfits and Sanctuary.
