A new home for digital-focused community television

Melbourne community broadcaster C31 is excited to announce the launch of 'C31Plays' – a live linear stream of gaming, lifestyle and comedy content to Twitch.tv (link).

The C31Plays schedule features a mix of programmed and live content in an all-hours broadcast targeted at a global Twitch audience of millennials and digital natives.

C31Plays provides a fantastic opportunity for young content creators to take the reins producing their own live segments utilizing the C31 studios and facilities.  These volunteer producers will maintain full control of their show – an opportunity for the next generation of screen hopefuls to experience producing for live broadcast.
‘C31Plays’  contributes to C31’s goal of providing training and career pathway experience to young producers and technical volunteers. This project also represents C31’s progression from traditional television to digital first content.

“C31Plays is an amazing opportunity for our young volunteers to work on producing content for the digital platforms that they know and love, working in teams in a professional setting with the pressure that comes with live broadcast.

C31 has a long history of enabling the next generation of screen talent to learn their craft and this will continue with the launch of C31Plays”
said C31 General Manager Matthew Field.

Having previously worked with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia and Pause Festival amongst many others, C31 is offering industry standard equipment and knowledge to passionate volunteers who wish to further their knowledge in the field.

C31Plays will begin broadcasting on the 11th of December at 10am, and will continue through the Christmas period into 2018.
